I propose that one of the greatest things in life comes from getting what you want after working really really hard to get it.
In theory, that sounds simple enough. But there is also other factors that come into play.

Appreciation. I think it is fair to presume that the more you are able to appreciate things, the more understanding, happiness and satisfaction you get.

Patience. Acting rashly may seem like a great, exciting spontaneous thing to do, but a lot of the times if you become a rash person, you will lose the true sight of what you really want. Only with patience will you have the ability to objectively witness the true beauty of your dreams.

Open mindedness. Sometimes, plans don't work out the way you intended, or some dreams never become realised. Even in these dire circumstances, you have to realise that it becomes really important to have patience, and see the truth of the situation. Maybe not immediately, but appreciation will come. Every cloud has a silver lining, even the dark, stormy ones. You may realise that there was an even better dream waiting right in front of you, ready to be discovered. Or, it may have made you realise the ugliness you did not see before. In actuality, all dreams have their pros and cons, and all that will matter in the end is that you yourself, were not afraid to go for it. And hey, you came out alive and happy without even taking another look back!
